Shenzhen Looks to Attract More Hong Kong, Macao Visitors — and Their Cash

Shenzhen has launched a bid to attract more residents from neighboring Hong Kong and Macao by making it easier for them to venture north and spend their hard-earned cash on not just tourism and leisure, but a broader range of sectors including health care and even car maintenance.

The Shenzhen Municipal Development and Reform Commission on Friday unveiled 21 measures to boost overall consumption in the city, including several especially tailored to Hong Kong residents, such as providing free shuttle services between border crossings and major business districts and scenic spots and facilitating cash withdrawals.
