Commentary: China’s Policymakers Reiterate Need for Cheaper Logistics to Benefit Economy

At the latest meeting of the Central Commission for Financial and Economic Affairs on Feb. 23, chaired by President Xi Jinping, policymakers reiterated the importance of lowering logistics costs across the country and promoting large-scale equipment updates and trade-ins for consumer goods. This means relevant policies could be implemented soon.

These policies are intended to streamline the process of production, distribution and consumption, ultimately transforming and upgrading traditional manufacturing. The goal is to create an environment where investment and consumption bolster each other.
