The Communist Party of China (CPC) will set up a department to oversee how the country handles complaints and solicits opinions from the public, as part of sweeping reforms by the party’s Central Committee and the State Council to restructure their institutions.

The department will oversee the National Public Complaints and Proposals Administration, a government body that is now under direct management of the State Council, previously under its General Office, according to reform plans released Thursday by the official Xinhua News Agency.
